Newton Moraes Dance Theatre (NMDT), founded by artistic director and choreographer, Newton Moraes, will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary on May 22, 2022. NMDT will be presenting “Life Under My Skin” a new choreography to celebrate this milestone, at the Fleck Dance Theatre at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto from November 23 to 26, 2022.
We had to postpone the creation of “Life Under My Skin” because of COVID-19, but now we are back on track. We are grateful for the support of the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts but could use additional contributions to help pay for costumes, set, props, lighting designer, and theatre expenses along with paying the dancers and our video and livestream direction by Barbara Willis Sweete. We are hoping to raise $25,000 Canadian dollars to cover these costs and support our company as we celebrate 25 years of dance.
